The Oregon Coastal Route 101

Sunday, July 3rd.
Campgrounds in town looked full, and not that great, so we parked along the coast, up on a hill a little, last night. At the entrance to the Redwood Forest. There was a lighthouse on a peninsula and the town of Crescent City. Beautiful view with the lights at night. This morning, it was foggy when we left...
this was just down the road from us, along the coast.
We ate at a seafood restaurant last night, delicious, melt in your mouth seafood...
We got the map out, and decided to travel along the coast the whole way through Oregon. The vote was unanimous!!!

We went to church at Lighthouse Ascembly of God. Felt very welcomed.
We really miss our church, especially Sunday mornings...

This guy was parasailing, in this BIG pool on the beach, it looked like fun.
This place changed oil and transmition fluid and did a 20 point check.

Pay your taxes or Uncle Sam will get you!!! Danny is such a goof...
We stayed at Cape Blanco Lighthouse State Park. Our campsite is close to the ocean, there is a trail behind the camper that takes you to a view, but too high to walk out to the water. It got very chilly after dark.

We had a cozy campfire.

California camping was very expensive, and it was often hard to find a good campground that had hookups we wanted. The most we paid was $80 a night, and that was with shopping around. This is much more like it, $20, hot showers, water and electric, paved site, level, and with a great view.  We were told this is how it is all along the coast.
Today we will go out to the lighthouse, and probably stop at a beach somewhere.
Happy 4th of July!!!
